Doping is back in the news today as a German biathlete tested positive for a stimulant.
During the Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, the International Olympic Committee will conduct in- and out-of-competition tests on approximately 2,000 out of the 3,000 athletes participating in the games.
They will be testing for performance enhancing drugs on the Prohibited Substances List, such as anabolic agents (steroids) and peptide horomones/growth factors (erythropoietin or EPO), published by the World Anti-Doping Agency and in accordance with the Olympic Code.
